About Dr. FreedmanJessica Freedman, MD, a graduate of Haverford College and Temple University School of Medicine, trained at Cook County Hospital in emergency medicine. Following her graduation from Cook County, she was recruited to join the emergency medicine faculty at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. At Mount Sinai, Dr. Freedman served in the residency leadership and on the medical school admissions committee and played a pivotal role in both resident and medical student education and curriculum development. Dr. Freedman has served as a mentor both formally and informally for countless residents and medical students, helping them to navigate the admissions maze. Dr. Freedman is the recipient of numerous honors, including a nomination for the American Medical Association Women Physician’s Congress Mentorship Award, and was consistently evaluated a top faculty member by her medical students and residents. She is also recognized nationally as a leader in graduate and undergraduate medical education, serving on several committees including the National Council of Residency Directors, the Mentoring Women Task Force, Women in Academic Medicine Committee, the Medical Student Education Group and the Faculty Development Committee of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine. Dr. Freedman is a member of the Association of International Graduate Admissions Consultants. Dr. Freedman has professional writing and editing experience and has published extensively in the popular press, online and in peer-reviewed journals.
