MedEdits Residency ClientQuite a few of my friends from [my Caribbean medical school] didn't match actually. The biggest thing for me was the mock interview that I did with you. Being naturally shy, the mock really helped me calm my nerves. Your help with my personal statement and thank you letters were also key. I had a couple interviewers comment on my personal statement. They thought I had a unique outlook of combining [two types of medical fields]. I was originally going to omit this completely from my file and application due to fears that many physicians may not like/agree with this integration. But I took your advice and it actually worked in my favor. The ID specialist who interviewed me one program really liked the idea. Thank you again Dr. Freedman for helping me land my top choice!
MedEdits Residency ClientDr. Freedman: Its now graduation season. I have been getting many congratulations but I can't help but remember the ones that were surpportive through the process. YOU especially!!! - from the encouragements to instilling confidence. From med school application all the way to admission into the residency of my choice! You have held my hand, offered priceless advice, and guided my feet while I ran the race. In short, you have been God sent!.I want to thank you very much for your assistance.

[Dr. Freedman mentored this applicant while she was still on faculty at Mount Sinai and then helped them obtain a residency position with MedEdits.]
MedEdits Residency ClientI am a student from a Caribbean medical school and was applying for residency in anesthesiology, which has become extremely competitive. Although I had top grades and scores, I knew there was no guarantee that I would get match into my specialty of choice, especially being from a Caribbean medical school. I also felt that guidance I was receiving from my school was poor. I wanted my ERAS application to stand out since that is what programs have to judge you on. Furthermore, I was not comfortable with my style of writ.ing and needed help writing a personal statement that would set me apart from the other applicants. I had no desire to pursue any other specialty. Therefore, I sought out for someone that could help me in all the areas necessary for obtaining residency.

Dr. Freedman knew how to make an application and personal statement really stand out.My initial rough drafts were nothing like what my final application and statement was. She knew what type of LORs would be important to obtain and send. She also knew how to word and when to send the letter of intent to my number one choice. Her mock interview helped me approach my first interview with the confidence necessary to stand out. I feel she offers the best advice on the major factors due to her background in admissions.

I recommend Dr. Freedman to all my friends who are either starting rotations, applying next year, or did not match this year and need expert advice.I feel that the earlier people begin working with MedEdits, the better, as I learned that organization and planning are extremely important for obtaining a residency of your choice. I tell my fellow classmates that the much of the guidance we receive from our school and the advice they read from forums posted by other students are inconsistent and confusing. I tell them that I feel working with Dr. Freedman is the best way to receive proper, well-rounded guidance, and develop a solid plan of action for applying. Many of my friends are turned off by the cost of her services but I tell them that it is worth it and that now, when good guidance counts the most, is not the time to be cheap.

I know many people have strong academic credentials like me. However, since applying for residency is all about knowing how to sell yourself, I feel your application, personal statement, LORs, interview skills, and timing are extremely important. Dr. Freedman was able to help me in all these aspects and more. Prior to using MedEdits, I had a completely different plan of action that I picked up mainly from other students and interns. I am extremely I worked with MedEdits to develop an effective method of maximizing my chances of getting a residency.

I feel I sought Dr. Freedman's help later than I should have. Therefore, my application was submitted later than most people. Initially, I felt like I was too late and that my chances of getting interviews were very slim despite having an excellent application. However, I received numerous invitations for preliminary year medicine and anesthesiology.Once I began receiving these interviews and compared the quality of my application, personal statements, and LORs to my friends' I knew [that I had made the right choice to hire Dr. Freedman].

I got my first choice university program for an incredibly competitive specialty, anesthesiology.

.Thank you for your advice. It's very helpful to hear from you when I have no experience with the process, and I'm sure going to advertise your service to the third year class (and to my younger sister who is a first year med student). MedEdits Residency ClientDr. Freedman encouraged me to write my PS in the way I felt it was right although I ignored almost every "rule". The PD of the program were I matched (my first choice program) told me that he loved my PS. Dr. Freedman is very professional yet friendly and kind. I believe that she is motivated by a genuine interest in helping applicants to pursue their dreams. I have really appreciated the fact that she showed personal interest and took the time to give me personal advice outside the editing process. I would strongly recommend to everyone I know to invest money in having their application, CV and PS edited by MedEdits, as I did. I know it sounds like a cheap commercial but you better take my words seriously. To be honest I wasn't sure if spending that money was a good move until I matched to the program of my dreams. My personal statement was attractive to the reader til the last sentence. I think my personal statement played a critical role in my admission. Mededits helped me choose what to include and what to leave out of my working on my experiences in my application. It is not only that they were upgraded from mediocre to excellent; I believe that having my documents reviewed by Dr. Freedman who has experience in the admissions process helped me to increase my confidence in my application which played a catalytic role in the final outcome.
MedEdits Residency ClientI matched into dermatology! I'm so, so excited! Thank you again for all your help! When I finally turned in my application, I really felt it was perfect! I'll let you know Thursday where I'm going, but I got several really good interviews. I was very pleased with my interview season! [Follow up: I matched at my first choice for derm! Thank you!]
MedEdits Residency ClientI had very low board scores and did not do well in medical school. I wanted someone to guide me with presenting myself the best way possible -not ignoring my faults but addressing them with confidence and ways to improve them. Dr. Freedman made me feel more comfortable talking about myself. She was always there. She would return my emails no less than a day and immediately returned/answered my phone calls. I would definitely turn to Dr. Freedman for guidance when I submit applications in the future. It's nice to have someone's perspective from the opposite side of the desk. Interviewing should not be taken for granted. It's like taking another Step exam. It's important. The way faculty of admissions perceive you is the way your patients are going to perceive you. It's important to come across professional, trustworthy and reliable. Just listening to Dr. Freedman and how she views your application helps you express yourself with confidence. I realized that the ERAS application is our 1st window to the program director, and so it has to be perfect, but I was not so sure of what I had filled in my application. Dr. Freedman's experience comes in very, very handy and that is why she is able to carry out her job to perfection. She is very kind and considerate too, she does understand when you tell her about an upcoming deadline. Dr. Freedman always rose to the occasion whenever I told her about any deadlines- and she would promptly respond and help me in time. I think that's what really makes her stand out- her dedication to her job and desire to help students. MedEdits dramatically improved my chances of admission because she not only improved my ERAS Application and CV, but also trained me for interviews. The interview preparation was very very useful , especially as I am an IMG. The correct feedback at the correct time was the masterstroke, so that I could improve myself maximum. Since I had mock interviews with Dr. Freedman, all my answers were well rehearsed { literally :-) } Not a single question was asked which had not appeared in Dr. Freedman's list of questions. That says it all. There is no doubting the efficiency or the reliability of MedEdits. Dr. Freedman always delivers whatever she has promised, in fact she goes out the extra mile so that you will be benefited maximum in your interview preparation. Most importantly she helps you out even when you have very close deadlines- that is what touched me the most and her efforts should be applauded for that. She also solves all your doubts till you are fully satisfied. MedEdits...gives you everything you need to succeed. As an IMG, I got into my first choice program- a university program where I never dreamed I would match ultimately.

MedEdits Residency ClientI never could have gotten an interview at [a prestigious northeast] university without your help. MedEdits is fantastic. The mock interview made me feel well prepared and more confident. I really feel like now I can stand against all the competition. I am grateful for all of your help.
MedEdits Residency Client[The mock interview] gave me an idea of what to expect and allowed me to relax and concentrate on answering the questions. I wasn't as nervous as I would have been otherwise and your advice….was invaluable. The discussion after the interview where you gave me feedback was most helpful in giving me an idea of how I would be viewed by others and gave me confidence going into the interview that I had as good a chance as anyone else of being selected….I wasn't taken by surprise by anything that was asked or that happened during my interviews. Having thought about a question beforehand helped me formulate and present a coherent answer. Without the mock interview, I would have felt like a "deer in the headlights."
MedEdits Residency ClientIncidentally, I showed my personal statement to my dean at [a prestigious northeast medical school], and he thought it was "fantastic" and that you gave "good, sound advice." [He] liked how you helped me with my personal statement so much that he wanted to know the name of your company so that he could recommend you to some of his other students.

Thank you for making my personal statement read so well. I really appreciate your time and help.

MedEdits Residency Client[MedEdits] knows what the admissions office is looking for and were able to delete information that was not needed in my personal statement. [MedEdits] helped me explain my thoughts better than I could myself. It was also very helpful it making my statement be more interesting and effective to the reader.
MedEdits Residency ClientI feel that my personal statement will help the admissions office to understand me and will now overlook my faults and see the asset I could be to any program. In the past I feel this is what held me back, because I did not explain my situation in my personal statement. My final revised personal statement is 1000 percent better from my initial version. I will recommend MedEdits. I would tell [applicants] that no matter how well they feel their statement is written, a review from MedEdits is a must. [MedEdits] is very easy to work with and prompt. [MedEdits] is great.
